There were many reasons why I wanted to become involved in a farm.

One was my Grandfather coming to this Country at the turn of the century with hardly anything in his pocket.  He started farming, the only thing he knew from the “old country” and raised everything that his Family (12 boys and girls) consumed (except wheat for flour). All the excess was sold at the Regional Market.  He made his own hams (prosciutto) and sausages, pickled vegetables for the winter, gathered eggs and made wine.  They were poor but well fed and hey...everybody was poor back then so they didn't really notice!

Another reason for my desire to farm is the state of our food supply in America.  You cannot pick up the newspaper or see a television report and not learn about unsafe meat and produce getting past the Federal and State Inspectors.  With the potential to sicken and harm you and your Family this is a serious national concern.  The failure of the “too big to fail” model not only applies to banks it applies to the “factory farm” concept as well.  Concentrating too many animals on too small an area leads to all sorts of health and sanitary problems where we unknowingly consume the results!

I wanted to grow and raise food for myself and others the way that my Grandfather and so many other Grandfathers did long ago.  I want to sell healthy, nutritious, good tasting meat and produce which I can be proud to sell to others and serve to my own Family.

We locally raise and feed our animals in the most natural environment possible with sunshine, open air,  plenty of fresh water and food.

Our Beef is Grass Fed and Finished, NO hormones, NO steroids and NO antibiotics ever.

We sell Chicken, Beef and Pork using a co-op shares program.  This is where you will “go into a cooperative” with one or more persons to buy a  live “share” of a cow or pig (chickens are sold whole).

We will raise and feed “your” livestock until it reaches market weight then processed...for you.

Meat will be cut into steaks, ribs, chops, wrapped, frozen, divided into your contracted share...ready to enjoy!

Thanks,

Gene
